HISTORY
In June of 2020, the Darby Family created a FB Live video sharing their experiences with racism in Methacton schools in Eagleville, Pennsylvania. The video was shared and seen by over 20,000 viewers. Many community members reached out to them, and in response, they decided to create a non-profit organization to help educate and bring awareness to racial injustice and, in turn, create positive change in their schools and community.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force was incorporated on August 10, 2020. At its inception, the organization was comprised of four Executive Board members and over 300 members from Lower Providence and Worcester townships and Methacton School District teachers, staff, students, and Board members. The mission is to create positive change through the establishment of practices that respect diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Methacton School District and the surrounding community.
